We happened upon some property this summer and it ended up not being what we were looking for, but while we were there, discovered a piece up the road that is exactly what we have always wanted. So we bought 5.1 acres on a beautiful hill on the outskirts of Dallas and have begun the journey of a lifetime. Tommy's dream of building his own home is coming true! We will sub out the exterior and it should be completed by November 2007 and then the work (and fun) begins.
We will be doing all the plumbing, electrical, sheetrock, flooring, counters, and everything else on the inside. The home will be a craftsman style 4BR, 2.5 BA, with approxiamtely 2600 SF and we have until August 2008 to finish it. I go back and forth from being excited to scared to death and it really hasn't sunk in all the way yet. Maybe when we break ground, which should be in a couple weeks.
So our home is for sale by owner and that is quite the chore with three little ones. It has to be in show quality at all times. Our prayers are for a speedy and uneventful sale (oh, at asking price of course)....
So, to say the least, summer flew by with us holding on only by a thread at times. Our gorgeous baby is now 7 months old and it honestly brings tears to my eyes every time I have to say her age. It just flew by too fast and three has been quite overwhelming for me at times so I don't think I was always enjoying her as much as I should have been. Cambria continues to amaze us with her never ending personality and is on the move now so she really keeps me on my toes. Charlie and Cameyna are like little sponges, they pick up on everything. Charlie can read now so it makes it difficult for Tom and I to spell things to each other anymore. We have decided we will have to spell in code or something. Cameyna is still on the waiting list for preschool, so we are just praying she will get a spot soon.
For all of you who are praying for my dad's recovery, Thank You!!! He completed two rounds of chemo because the first was not as successful as hoped, and is now on to radiation. Dr. Gordon is very pleased with the improvement that he is seeing on the tumors in my dad's neck and chest, which is such an answer to prayer. God's love and mercy have been on this whole situation and I am so proud of my dad's strength and attitude. I love his new doctor, he is so informative and patient. He allows the kids to come to all the appointments with us and Charlie even gets to push all the buttons to move Papa up and down on the table, which makes him feel very important. When dad's hair grows back he has promised the kids a train ride to CA to Disneyland. That will be it's own blog update......
Our hopes and prayers are that this finds you all happy and healthy, talk to you soon.
